Does every storefront on Colfax have to turn into a “green” operation?
Suffice it to say, Detours is no longer in operation. It is now a grow supply store.
They had a neat concept but they are now the latest addition to the Coffee Cemetery.
Since the first time I profiled Detours Coffee in Denver
The free coffee a “pay it forward” philosophy that they say is working, with people choosing to enjoy their free coffee and then do something for others. Pretty cool concept. It’s also getting them some attention, and they have been featured on CNN and numerous regional and local media outlets.
Did I mention the coffee is free?

Beth – I am now in Dallas. The coffee places here needs to learn from the Denver coffee places. They are pathetic – no innovation and creativity. The ones you mentioned in KC sound fantastic.
I will be in Denver for two days and can't wait to visit a few of my favorite coffee places Geez Louise. I might try Detours too.
I still miss Diedrich's by KIng Soopers on Capitol Hill. Ever since they became Daz Bog, it has not been the same in ambiance and menu items.
DUDE… HOLD THE PHONE HERE FOR JUST A DAMNED MINUTE!!! Why is it that I live so close to this place and never heard of it… YOU CAN BET YOUR ASS THAT I will be checking this place out first thing in the morning. The google maps street view only shows a mexican trash heap that is up for sale on the corner. Thanks for the lowdown on this place! I will check it out!!!
Hey, I was just in Kansas City, and two coffeehouses there had innovative drinks that I haven't seen in Denver. One was LatteLand, which made a latte with rosemary-infused caramel from Christopher Elbow Chocolates. The other was One More Cup, which made drinks with various flavors of milk from a local dairy. So the Curious George had banana milk, chocolate milk, and espresso. There was even a drink with root beer milk! Can you think of any coffeehouses in Denver that are making such innovative drinks?
