I’m a slacker

So, it’s been a while since I added any new java joints to the page, (I have a pretty good excuse) but that will soon change! I have several places to visit, but in the meantime, I’m going to add them as posts and let you all add comments! A few include Gallop, JC’s Ground, Heirloom, and a few others listed on the “add to the list” thread. Sign up for email updates, and I’ll drop a line out when I add to the site.

  1. Whoops, in case it wasn't clear, my above review is about Gallop Cafe on Zuni and 33rd street!

  2. I have to say I've never received a WARM reception, but today's experience sealed the deal. It was Sunday, I met a friend I hadn't seen for some time there. I ordered the Gravlox platter. For $8.95 it was VERY skimpy with 1 very thin slice of salmon. At that point I would have rated them 3 stars for the food. What reduced them to 1 star was we had been there a little over an hour and I was on my second cup of coffee. The waiter came over, interrupted our conversation and told us we had to leave because we'd been there a while and they needed our table. I said, "Can I finish my coffee?" He said, "we need your table". I said, "OK, but I won't be back." He said "OK." I guess the sign they posted that says "no meetings, no laptops" should have been a clue that this is NOT a neighborhood coffee shop. I see that another person had this same experience, so I guess this is their policy. Customer turnover more important then customer service or loyalty. There are many other places with better food and manners (Wash Perk, LoHi Steak Bar, and the Masterpiece Deli all know something about welcoming customers).
