Urban Harvest Bakery
200 Quebec Street
(303) 340-0992
Urban Harvest is a Bakery/Coffee/Deli concept in the newly redeveloped Lowry area. One of the Peaberry turned Starbucks locations is opening literally right next door, so stop by Urban Harvest and support them!
They have a lot of seating a fireplace, a large patio, and plenty of food choices. They serve Vail Mountain coffee. This is more of a bakery than just a coffeehouse, but I thought I’d add it to the blog since it was recommended as a nice neighborhood spot. I am pretty sure they have WiFi, but you might want to call and check. Will add some pics and add it to the map later.

I loved this place I am so sad it is gone. I loved their Mediterranean Turkey sandwich with a bowl of chicken chili. The Best, to bad it is gone I know that all businesses go through tough times and must shut their doors.
For the most part, I enjoyed the coffee and cappuccinos. They had a nice barista for a while who made some good mocas! Like others have said here, the owner was very rude, to put it, um, nicely. She actually started yelling at a customer in front of me with the barista just standing next to her all awkwardly! Talk about your customer service! So that was when I decided, yeah, maybe the starbucks across the street wasn’t so bad.
Well, I’m not surprised! Maybe this is a good opportunity for someone who knows how to run a coffee shop!
As of 12/27/08 when I stopped by, Urban Harvest has gone out of business.
I’m taking someone there tomorrow for the first time (me too). With all of the comments here and the date stamps – I’m scared! I like to support local but Starbucks doesn’t sound so bad now!!
Such a disappointment! I had gone here for a quick bite previously and loved the warm, inviting atmosphere. Came back a few weeks later, ready to have some breakfast and latte. Brought my laptop. Noticed the taped over electrical outlets and asked the woman running the coffee station. She was the rudest person I’ve ever met. She said they tape the outlets because people “sit there all day and don’t buy anything.” I said, well it seems you’re punishing your good customers. She said, quote, “I’ve never seen YOU in here before.” I guess she was telling me I wasn’t one of her good customers. I asked her if she was the owner. She said yes. So I said, “Well, you certainly won’t see me in here again.” Such a disappointment!!!
This place has gone way downhill. The ownership changed about one year ago, prices way up and quality down. The owner has taped over the electrical outlets, says he can’t afford to let anyone charge their laptop. Not a good way to treat paying customers. This is my neighborhood coffee shop and I never go there anymore, all the regulars have left.
Urban Harvest has awesome coffee and awesome food!
Hi
this is the manager from Urban Harvest and I appreciate all feedback on the place. As to Anonymous, All dates on our coffees are roast dates not expiration dates. I am sorry you had such a bad experience at Urban Harvest.
Anonymous, you wouldn’t happen to own the nearby Starbucks, would you? lol
I went to Urban Harvest on Sunday and it was absolutely packed. I guess some of us love nasty coffee.
Wow, Anonymous! huh.
Urban Harvest has great sandwiches. My favorite is the Curried turkey in a pita. Love to go on a weekend morning and just have some delicious coffee while relaxing and reading the paper. Toasted Almond is really good. They have really nice workers their too. A neighborhood favorite in our household!
This is the nasty high school cafeteria of coffee shops. There is not one redeeming thing good that I can think up about this steaming pile of dung. The coffee is so old and stale it tasted like they poured vinegar on it. I spied the expiration date on one of the bags, it was overdue by a month. Avoid this place like the plague, or if you just don’t care for rotten coffee.
I don’t drink coffee, so can’t tell you about it…but their hot chocolate drinks are great. Enough for me to drive out of my way when in town. I especially like the Whopper hot chocolate drink…and the food is good too. I agree…continue to support this place.
