I haven’t been to La Dolce Vita, but the owner sent me this description. I’ll post a profile and pics when I get the chance to make it over there to Arvada.
From the owner:
This coffeehouse, located in the heart of Olde Town Arvada, is a wonderfully relaxing place to hang and enjoy some great coffee.Fresh baked cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, cookies and sandwiches plus a large assortment of sodas and teas make this a complete experience for all to take part in. There’s live music on the weekends, local artists work hanging on the walls (changes monthly) and free wireless to partake in. Open seven days a week, 364 days a year (only closed Christmas Day), you can come by anytime. Check out the web site – http://www.ldvcoffee.com/ – for specific hours, music acts and menu items.

I am an Arvada native, and reading through these comments I agree with most. I have visited La Dolce Vita on many occasions throughout the last few years, and while it is a nice place and convenient when I am right there in Old Town, Bliss cafe is a lot better alternative. I have only been to the coffee shop off 72nd and Wadsworth once, but I think it was a better atmosphere overall and had better coffee than La Dolce Vita. And the comment about them refusing service 45 minutes before their posted closing time? That has happened to me as well.
I have stopped in a few different times over the past couple of years and every time is the same old story even under new management. Bland coffee, depressing atmosphere, and terrible service with rude employees. However just around the corner on Grandview is Another coffeeshop called Bliss Cafe that opens at six thirty, serves great coffee and simple breakfast at a great price. I suggest everyone check them out.
Seems like many people aren’t aware that La Dolce Vita has been under new management for several months now. This summer, they also opened an ice cream parlor and sell hand dipped ice cream. The coffee is excellent, and with the new management, there are new employees, and excellent service. A great place to hang out and enjoy cofee, pastries, or now, ice cream. Free wireless too.
I found this place while looking for a coffee shop with WIFI while my son was at a sports camp. Coffe was fine and the sticky bun was really good. I recommend this place.
I like the people who have waited on me at La Dolce Vita. It’s a large and comfortable place. I order an extra espresso shot in everything, so the coffee isn’t at all weak. There are plenty of outlets for the laptop and free wi-fi. I can’t see why anyone would have any complaints about the place. It’s one of my favorites.
Some of the employees at this coffee shop have developed long running habits, as I have noticed, but they seem to be correcting over time, And the place is sparkling clean, so I, for one, will continue to keep my money in family business.

this place rules !!!
great coffee…..good service….very clean place…will keep coming back.
I visited La Dolce Vita 2 Saturdays ago, having read about the new ownership, etc. I had visited once before, many months ago, and the service was horrible (same reasons as previous posts).
On this most recent visit, I was very disappointed. My mother was in town and we were exploring Olde Towne, and stopped in for some cappuccinos. I can honestly say, I will not be coming back. Here’s why:
1) The barista (a girl in her 20s maybe?) just glared at me as I looked at the menu; she didn’t say hello, didn’t ask what I would like. She just glared until I decided upon my order.
2) Another barista (also in her 20s) was also making drinks, and her outfit was very inpappropriate. With a tight, short shirt and tight jeans that exposed her thong, she belonged in a bar or strip club, not a coffee shop. Many customers noticed this a well.
3) My cappuccino was not hot…just barely warm. When I brought it back to the counter and asked them to remake it, the barista gave me a dirty look, a big sigh, and remade my drink in such a huff.
I was hopeful with the new ownership. But to make this coffee shop truly enjoyable, they need to replace the baristas. Seriously.
I’ll go to Steamers in Five Parks next time I’m in town.
Whether you’re looking for basic or advanced information on coffee maker, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve done a lot of research and have it all here for you.
As the new manager of La Dolce Vita I was shocked by some of the older comments that were posted. I would like to tell everyone that we are aggressively taking care of the problems the store has experienced in the past. Mention this posting when you come in and receive 25% off your order. J Weeks
Timothy D’s Coffee on West 64th and Quaker close to the Albertsons is a great coffee house, great atmosphere and drinks!
I happened into La Dolce Vita during The Harvest Festival Parade, had only been in there a few times before but it looks a lot different. The coffee was great and in spite of being swamped the employees were really nice. I’m planning on going back when I have time to sit and enjoy.
To the posting asking about other coffee houses in Arvada… the same roaster that La Dolce Vita (Novo Coffee) has their own coffee house next to Vitamin Cottage around 72 & Wadsworth. They don’t have a lot of food options, but they do the coffee and espresso right! Things may be improving at Dolce Vita with the new owner too – seems to be cleaning things up a bit.

I have moved the responses to that post instead of this one.
This place has such great potential, but true to the previous comments there are several – though not all – staff members that should be fired immediately if they want to stay in business! There is absolutely no excuse for bad service. If I happen by, I’ll see who’s behind the counter and decide whether to go in. Unfortunately for the owner, I only check it out if it’s convenient for me based on bad service in the past. The owner seems great btw – not sure what he’s thinking with some of his staff.
I visited La Dolce Vita one evening approximately 40 mins before the posted closing time, and was refused service, as were several others. The barista was very rude to me and my party, and encouraged us to go somewhere else. I haven’t been back, but am willing to give them another shot, it could have just been a rough night
I totally disagree with the last comment. I have been there several times, and while the brewed coffee is sometimes weak, the espresso drinks are good. The cinnamon rolls are to die for, and their sticky buns are GREAT! A employee or two could be removed from the scene and improve everything, but, overall, it works well.
Oh, and music is live EVERY weekend.
Great location for a coffee place and nice decore, but drinks and service are below par. Of the coffeehouses in Arvada this would not be my top choice to visit. Arvada seems to have a shortage of good coffeehouses so if anyone has suggestions for a good place in Arvada I’d like to hear it.
I have visited La Dolce Vita once, and the service was below par. On my visit, I ordered a skim cappuccino in a mug. The girl behind the counter made my drink and brought it to me, however when I took a sip, I was dismayed to find that my drink was COLD! I brought up back up to the counter and nicely asked them to re-make it. I received a “look” and her attitude made it very clear that I was somehow being unreasonable!
I don’t know that I’d return here.
La Dolce Vita is a good Coffeehouse. However it could be a great CoffeeHouse IF it had a good Re-Fill Policy, charging for one refill just does not make it in my book.
Now, on a brighter note, they do have music on some week-ends like the Great coffeeHouses in town.
ONE LAST THING.
La Dolce Vita is a nice name, However everyone I’ve talked to can never remember the name. I wish they would call it something else. This place has a FunkFactor of 85% on the Hunter-Man Scale
