I was in Aurora today so decided to check out E Steamers Coffeehouse on Chambers and Alameda. I was surprised to find a unique and cozy coffeehouse. With a fireplace in the middle, a piano, plenty of seating spots, a brick counter and numerous other unique features, E Steamers has a nice atmosphere. There are items for sale all over the walls and on numerous shelves, giving E Steamers the feel of a country store.

The coffee at E Steamers is from Cafe Catargo, which is a local roaster, which interestingly has a product called “Bald Lady Coffee,” a roast that benefits a non profit which benefits breast cancer patients.

Perks:

- Atmosphere – a nice surprise in a strip mall location
- Numerous gifts and snacks for sale
- Free WiFi
- Friendly staff (they have numerous “best of Aurora” awards posted around the shop.
- Location… if you look at the map, there aren’t a lot of other independent shops in the area…
- Outdoor Patio Seating

I doubt I’ll be back much since I live closer to central denver, but if I’m ever in Aurora, I’ll be sure to stop by!

I just called to check their hours. Sadly, they’re an early-morning type place… they open at 5am all days of the week. M-F they close at 5pm, and Sat/Sun they close at 1pm. Too bad!

I’m at E. Steamers as I write this. This is a very unusual coffee house; or perhaps I am biased by the Boulder coffee shops. It’s decor is closer to that of Cracker Barrel than the hipster uniformity of most coffee places. It’s music is well-known pop, though drawn from every decade my parents lived through. There have been several senior folks whiling away the day here, talking about current events and other miscellany. There have also been a somewhat steady stream of young people and some professionals. There are still ashtrays on the tables outside. There’s a piano.

Overall, I really like this place. I wish I lived nearby; I could become a regular here.

And its coffee is pretty good.

I just lov e this place. They treat EMS/Fire/police really well!!!

  4. E Steamers is my home away from home. Everyone from coffee-makers to customers is so friendly. And the internet connection seems to have brought in new customers.

  5. I work right up the street from E Steamers and have been many times.
